According to the BBC, Harper's Prime Minister David Cameron announced that accepted his resignation with regret.
In announcing the prime minister said that there is no evidence that the 43 - year-old knew he had employed an illegal immigrant.
In its place is named James Brokenshire.
In a letter to Prime Minister Harper indicated he will continue his role as a Tory MP.
He writes that although he has not violated any law as an employer, he believes that his position means to have higher standards than others.
Harper says it made a janitor control documents and discovered that she was working illegally in Britain.
